August Prompt I

Writing Characters

How would you write an asexual character without making their orientation their one defining trait? Make their orientation evident, but don't make them say "I'm asexual" every time they speak (metaphorically).

September Prompt I

Songwriting

Let's start small: find a song you'd like to change the lyrics to, but enjoy the melody to. Following the rhyme scheme of the original song, rewrite the song using a similar experience to the artist's.

October Prompt II

Writing Mental Illness

Create a character with a mental illness (research on it beforehand) and have them in a scene where they are receiving help from a professional. Remember: don't write "I have __" blatant, because it doesn't define them.

Write an ironic poem of horror about something unassuming with a humorous twist at the end.

Poetry

October Prompt IV

August Prompt II

Writing Polar Opposites

While opposites attract, polar opposites don't have much in common to be in a healthy relationship, and instead can make for an interesting platonic rivalry. Write about polar opposite characters and their friendship.

October Prompt I

Poetry

Write a poem about a childhood lie you believed that turned out to be far, far from the truth you found out as you grew up

October Prompt III

Songwriting

What's a song you feel needs to be longer?

Write a sequel to a favorite song or a song you feel needs to have a sequel.

Mine was Hands Like Houses' "The Sower"

January Prompt II

A Not So "Fresh" Start

Write a series of short stories of your first day becoming each of the Seven Deadly Sins. How'd you become? How'd you react on your first day? What shenanigans would you commit within the first few minutes?

January Prompt I

New Beginnings

Keeping with the January spirit of starting anew, try a sci-fi approach to the Maya Angelou poem "Still I Rise," in which evokes more of the revival aspects of the poem.

January Prompt III

Ahead of His Time

To evoke some Shakespearean fun, write a bullet journal entry in what you feel would be Shakespeare's feelings about how the world is today, using how your current day is going. It should be fun, hehehe.
